There are a few places in Bali that I find myself returning to for very specific reasons. La Lucciola is one of them.
I come here for two things: the tiramisu and the sunset views. It is a simple reason to return, but when the setting is this beautiful and the dessert hits the spot, I don’t really need much convincing.
Come for the Sunset
La Lucciola is one of those places where timing matters. I like coming around sunset, when you can settle in, order a drink, and watch the sky change as the evening starts.
The view is a big part of the experience for me. Bali has plenty of restaurants with beautiful settings, but there is something particularly enjoyable about sitting down with a drink and watching the sunset unfold rather than rushing through dinner.
And Stay for the Tiramisu
The tiramisu is the other reason I keep coming back. It is the dish I would specifically make room for, especially if you’re looking for something sweet to finish the evening.
For me, La Lucciola is less about trying to order everything on the menu and more about returning for the things I already know I enjoy. Sunset, tiramisu, and a relaxed evening by the water is a pretty good combination.
Don’t Skip the Cocktail
I also like their cocktail resembles the Whisky Sour, but with a spicy twist. There is a little heat from chili padi, which gives the drink a kick without completely taking over the cocktail.
It’s the kind of drink I enjoy because the familiar sour profile is still there, but the spice makes it more interesting. If you like cocktails with a bit of heat, this is one I’d look out for when you’re there.

Is La Lucciola Worth Visiting?
For me, yes — especially if you’re looking for a relaxed Bali meal with a beautiful sunset setting. I wouldn’t say I return because I need to try every dish on the menu. I return because I know I can have the things I enjoy: sunset views, tiramisu, and a good cocktail with a little chili heat.
Sometimes that’s exactly what makes a restaurant worth returning to. Just remember to make a reservation as it can get a little hard to get a table during dinner!
